Company History

DownUnder GeoSolutions was incorporated by its co-founders, Matthew Lamont and Troy Thompson, at its headquarters in Perth, Western Australia in December 2003.

When the company was first established, Troy Thompson headed up the QI division while Matthew Lamont, following a gap he had identified in the market, focussed on developing a processing and imaging toolkit for small-scale processing.

The team soon realised that the interpretation software tools commonly available on the market were cumbersome and out-dated. This led to the creation of DownUnder GeoSolutions' unique suite of software, which enables a superior technical work-flow and greater productivity. The DUG suite of software was initially developed for rapid and accurate delivery of DownUnder GeoSolutions' professional services. However, due to customer requests for direct access to these leading-edge tools, they were commercialised and made available to the market for purchase.

The DownUnder GeoSolutions service offering has grown considerably over the years to include petrophysics, seismic data processing, depth imaging, geostatistical depth conversion, quantitative interpretation and seismic acquisition.
