SEG 2011 bigger than Texas.
As they say, "everything's bigger in Texas", and the DownUnder team kept the tradition going at the SEG 2011 in San Antonio, Texas. There was "Texas-sized interest" in the release of DUG Insight 2.4. And the unlimited size of the data sets that Insight can handle had everyone talking.
Insight's ability to completely integrate and synchronize the interpretation of gathers with stacked data is blazing a trail for geoscientists to interpret their seismic like they've never done in the past. This unique and innovative approach should keep the team busy with all of the industry interest from the show.

Thumbs up for DUG Insight at EAGE 2011
As these DUG Insight fans can attest, it was all 'thumbs up' when it came to our EAGE 2011 booth and DUG Insight software presentations. Visitors loved the DownUnder GeoSolutions' bushranger-inspired conference attire. Sharing the spotlight was the eagerly awaited showcasing of Insight version 2.4 and its unique ability to integrate stacked data with pre-stack data.
It's a year away, but attendees were already looking forward to our conference attire for the EAGE in Copenhagen and all the software releases in between. We'll make sure to implement more processing and interpretation features to make our fans happy. And of course - we'll continue to vie for 'Best Dressed in Show'!

Delegates get a shock at AAPG Houston.
It was another successful AAPG for the DownUnder GeoSolutions' conference team who enjoyed the positive response as "sticker shock" and "what's the catch" were commonly heard around the booth.
The industry continues to be surprised at DUG Insight's extremely attractive pricing point for its complete interpretation workflow capabilities - from displaying and interpreting gathers dynamically with stacked data to calculating the volumetrics for the reservoir. It's now a matter of convincing interpreters that they'll have to lower their software budgets in order to get a more advanced interpretation solution.

With over 3000 attendees at APPEA 2011 (10-13 April, 2011), the DownUnder GeoSolutions sales and technical marketing team were once again kept busy demonstrating DUG Insight software and sharing their processing, imaging and quantitative interpretation expertise with existing and potential clients.
There was also significant interest in Dugeo's new multi-client data products for 2011:
· Monodon – reprocessing of 13 surveys in the Panaeus Area.
· Southern Browse Basin – petrophysics, rock physics and modelling study
· Central Browse Basin – petrophysics, rock physics and modelling study
· Vulcan Sub-Basin – petrophysics, rock physics and modelling study
If you are interested in checking out the details on these studies for yourself, just click on the multi-client studies tab within the main website.
In other hot news from the conference, the Dugeo wine coolers were unofficially “the best giveaway at the conference” with many visitors seeking us out specifically to bag themselves one. Many of our Perth staff took advantage of the open day at the exhibition to catch up with clients and the latest industry news – it was an enjoyable conference for all.

New branding launched at PGCE 2011.
DownUnder GeoSolutions launched its new branding at the recent Petroleum Geology Conference and Exhibition in Kuala Lumpur (7-8 March, 2011). The conference also saw two new members of our sales team – Supada Wapatthai and Eileen Tan – launch into action.
With nearly 3,000 participants at the conference, we had a busy time at the booth giving DUG Insight demonstrations and meeting current and potential clients to discuss service work. DownUnder GeoSolutions also presented a paper - “Fit for Purpose Seismic Reservoir Characterisation” – as part of the PGCE Technical Program.
Many of our KL staff took advantage of the open day for the exhibition and came to lend a hand on the booth and network with their industry colleagues.
All up, a successful start to our conference program for 2011!

SEG 2010 visited by bushrangers from DownUnder

The DownUnder GeoSolutions team enjoyed a successful conference in Denver in October with great attendance at their DUG booth. Clients enjoyed seeing the team demonstrate the new DUG Insight software in action. Or perhaps they were hoping for a demonstration of bootscooting from the Downunder bush rangers?
The SEG gave US clients an opportunity to meet the new Houston team in person. DownUnder GeoSolutions has introduced a new sales team into the area, plus now has technical expertise on the ground.
