Quantitative Interpretation Senior Geophysicist

Overview of Role:
We are seeking an experienced Quantitative Interpretation (QI) geophysicist to join our growing and energetic QI team in delivering and managing high quality QI services to the global oil and gas industry.
The successful candidate must be highly motivated to work in a fast-moving and high-tech work environment, have strong leadership skills with the ability to foster creativity and innovation within the team, and demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills. He or she will also need exceptional written and oral communication skills (English), be highly organised, and have the technical capability to deliver high-quality work on time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering QI service projects, including managing project schedules, carrying out day-to-day tasks to perform project work, consulting with colleagues, working closely with clients and reporting results objectively within scheduled timelines.
- Mentoring and sharing knowledge in QI with QI team members and the larger Dugeo community.
- Developing and maintaining networks and relationships with Dugeo clients in areas of QI technology.
Preferred Experience / Technical Competencies:
- Strong experience in amplitude and AVA assessment (both qualitative and quantitative), forward modelling and calibration, volume interpretation and volume AVA analysis, fluid contact and DHI analysis
- Working knowledge of rock physics methods and workflows for exploration, reservoir characterisation and reservoir monitoring (4D)
- Working knowledge of velocity model building and time-to-depth calibration, wavelet extraction and well-to-seismic ties
- Working knowledge of seismic inversion (including band-limited, absolute impedance, simultaneous AVA, model-based and geostatistical inversion)
- Some experience with integration of 3D and 4D seismic into static and dynamic models
- Solid understanding of geology and petrophysics
- Familiarity with seismic acquisition, processing and interpretation concepts with respect to implications for QI
Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Earthsciences (PhD preferred)
- Minimum 6-8 years direct experience beyond graduate studies in seismic amplitude analysis
- Excellent written and spoken English; strong communication skills
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Knowledge of, and experience working with, QI industry software
- Good understanding of E&P industry, and QI capability available in the marketplace
- Highly organised with attention to detail and capability of producing accurate work
- Motivated to complete assigned responsibilities within set deadlines
- Willing to work in Kuala Lumpur
