Seismic Data Processor
Location: Kuala Lumpur - KLCC
Overview of Role:
We are seeking Seismic Data Processors – from graduates with minimal industry experience, to those with 3-5yrs experience – to join our growing and energetic project teams in delivering high quality services to the global oil and gas industry. There is opportunity for long-term career progression and increasing responsibility as technical and project management skills develop.
The successful candidate must be highly motivated to work in a fast-moving and high-tech work environment, have the capacity to work independently with careful attention to detail, and demonstrate initiative and problem-solving skills.
The successful candidate will be assigned to a project team, with the responsibility of delivering seismic processing and imaging projects. Tasks can include some or all of the following:
- Managing, preparing and ensuring quality control of geosciences data to support team projects
- Seismic time processing and depth imaging of 2D and 3D land and marine seismic data (including generation of processing flows, parameter testing, velocity interpretation and model building).
- Preparing, running and managing production work flows on the company computer system and resolving any issues that may arise during a production run
- Preparing project reports and presentations, and participating in project meetings (where appropriate), for both internal and external clients
- Where professional experience is relevant, helping mentor and/or supervise other staff
- Performing other related tasks as assigned by the team leader
Requirements:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Geology / Geophysics / Maths / Physics / Engineering, or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills; fluent in written and spoken English
- Highly organised and able to produce accurate work
- Motivated to complete assigned responsibilities within set deadlines
- Willing to work in Kuala Lumpur
- Malaysian citizenship or permanent residency
The following experience is desirable, but not mandatory:
- Previous practical work experience in seismic data processing, digital signal processing or depth imaging
- Knowledge of, and experience working with, Linux and/or Unix; and industry seismic processing tools
- Basic scripting and/or programming skills
