Geostatistical Depth Conversion

Our Geostatistical Depth Conversion toolkit produces a stable, geologically plausible background trend that accounts for the majority of errors and ties the well information by enforcing geophysical and geological constrained statistics.

The background trend is a long wavelength solution in the form of a polynomial function based on geologically meaningful and measurable quantities. These may include velocities, horizons, well markers, depth below mud line, geobodies, or any other available data deemed likely to influence the observed variations in velocity.
